OEST, Sandra (Sandi) Phebe
OEST, Sandra ÔSandi Phebe died peacefully onSeptember 19, at the age of77. Sandi is survived byher husband of 55 years, Ronald Oest, daughter Kimberley Challman, son-in-law William Challman, daughter Tracy Bohush, 5 grandchildren, Chad, Alexandra, Victoria, Kara and Rachel, sister Sheila Smith of Springfield, Oregon, and brother Jim Loveall of Eugene, Oregon. She is predeceased by her brother, Richard Loveall, of Eugene, Oregon, and a grandson, Joseph Challman. Sandiwas born onJanuary 11, 1940,inEugene, Oregon. She grew up in Eugene, spending her summers picking hops and beans to make 'pocket money.' Sandi spent 4 years in the United States Air Force and spent her last two years as the Secretary to the WAF (Women of the Air Force) Director at the Pentagon. She and Ron married December 16, 1962, and started their life in California. During her life, she worked in banking until she became a mother to her children, and then as a teachers aide, school secretary, and tax preparer. She will be remembered most for her love of family and friends that she showed through her charitable acts. Those she loved will remember receiving her handwritten letters. Her desire to serve others extended into her community as she gave of her abundance to charitable causes on a regular basis. She was a faithful fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers. She was also an accomplished bowler, and her baking was loved by all. She enjoyed spending her free time playing golf and playing bridge with partner/husband Ron. She was also very happy spending an evening at home quilting, reading or playing cards. www.joshuamortuary.com
