WELLS, John D.
WELLS, John D. Born in Durant, Okla., Dec. 21, 1932 to Laura and John Wells. Passed away June 6, 2017. John enlisted in the Air Force in 1953. He was a member of the flight training squadron at Lackland AFB, Texas in Nov. 1953. John did reconnaissance flying in Korea. He and his wife Lyn were married in 1958. He left active duty in the Air Force. Belonged to Calif. Air National guard in Fresno. He was an F86 Sabre Jet Pilot and received a BA in English from Fresno State. Hired by Lockheed in Burbank 1961, he also worked at Lockheed, Sunnyvale. John, Lyn and their 3 sons lived in Saudi Arabia before moving to Lancaster in 1971. He became an L1011 Pilot at Lockheed, Palmdale. John was a recurrent training pilot on the MD90 for Flight Safety Boeing. He is survived by wife, Lyn; sons: Frank (Grace), Christopher; grandchildren: Elizabeth, Madison, Frankie and Sammy. sister: Doris; He was preceded in death by his son, John Gregory. We think of his accomplisments and love for his family 'our Pops'. Not lost to those of us who loved him, not dead, just gone before. He lives in our memories and will forever more.
