Kammerer, Michael Frederick
KAMMERER, Michael Frederick Born July 13, 1939 in Los Angeles, Calif., Mike passed away peacefully at home in Tehachapi, Calif., Apr. 15, 2017. Mike graduated from AV High School in 1958. He enjoyed playing on the AV High School football team and the AV Sidewinders semi-pro football team after graduation. He married his first wife, Joan Stacey, in 1958. Mike and Joan had 2 children; Jeffrey and Julie. He began working at Lockheed Aircraft in 1958 as a Timekeeper and after 35 years, retired as a Flight Line Manager in 1994. The majority of time at Lockheed was with the Advanced Development Skunk Works on programs including T-33, F104 Germany, Italy, Canada and USA, SR71, and several models of the U2. His career included overseas deployments. Mike married Lois Ann Peck in 1977 and together they raised five children: Jeff and Julie Kammerer, and Tony, Angela and Marilee Peck. The family enjoyed many camping trips over the years. They were blessed with 7 Grandchildren: Demi, Rylee and Avery Bishop of Calif.; Jenna Clever of N.C.; and Breelyn, Luke and Jake Bowe of Colo. Upon Mike's retirement in 1994, he and Lois moved to Big Bear Lake, Calif. where they lived for 5 years before settling in Tehachapi. Mike enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, Bar-B-Qing, football and NASCAR. His favorite place to camp and fish was Silver Lake Resort in June Lake, Calif. He was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Tehachapi, Calif. since 2001. Memorial Service will be held for Mike at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 329 So. Mill St., Tehachapi, Calif., Sun., April 23, 2017, at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Scholarship Fund. Final Disposition will be at a later date in the Eastern Sierras.
