REED, Brian E.
REED, Brian E. Brian passed away at home Mar. 23, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Lynn (Jones) Reed; daughters: Brianne Johnson and Nicole Reed Allen; granddaughter Claire Johnson, and sisters: Joy Pauley, Valerie Silva, and Belinda Barbour. Brian was born on Jan.3, 1955 in Sidney, Neb. to Roy Edward and Allyn Dee (Whitmire) Reed. Brian enjoyed watching Nebraska football and pheasant hunting with his Dad. Brians family moved to Barstow in 1970. He attended John F. Kennedy High School. He played the trombone in the school marching band, played football, and was a Senior Counselor for DeMolay. He met the love of his life, Jackie, at Barstow Music. Graduating magna cum laude from San Diego State University in 1977 with a BA in Political Science Brian went on to obtain a law degree from the University of San Diego. He was admitted to the California Bar in 1980. Brian was a determined advocate for people in need, whether injured or denied benefits. Brian and Jackie moved to Lancaster in 1981 where they built their lives together. Family meant everything to Brian and he was always a loyal son, husband, father, and grandfather. Claire was the crown jewel in his court. Brian always treated his friends as though they were family. He lived life to the fullest, creating joy in every day as it came. A memorial service will be held 10:00 am Sat., April 1, at Halley-Olsen-Murphy Funeral Home, 44831 Cedar Ave., Lancaster. Following the service, there will be a celebration of Brian's life at Black Angus.
