SETNICKY, John
SETNICKY, John Paul Born in Chicago on Dec. 4, 1938, John Paul Setnicky left us on Feb., 11, 2017 to join his beloved wife Paula. For fifty-two years they journeyed through life exploring the country and discovering hidden treasures from the desert to the sea. One of their favorite spots was the poppy fields of the Antelope Valley. For some time the lack of rain has prevented the splendor of those fields. It's as if this year, preparation was made for them to enjoy that beauty together once again. John was an electrician and long time member of the IBEW. For the majority of his career he worked in the movie industry, starting with making the wind blow through the curtains while Julie Andrews sang "My Favorite Things" in The Sound of Music. John was a proud Scottish Rite Mason. He loved golf and was President of the Mickey Mouse Golf Club as well as a member of the Hole in One club. More than anything he loved to drive. He would travel the country with his beloved Paula searching out the most beautiful and interesting parts of this land. Go ahead Dad, you can start exploring again. John is survived by his children: Anne St. George, Saundy (Scott) Simmons, and Jeffrey (Theresa) Conner; grandsons: Jason (Tracy) Conner and Mark Conner. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Louis, mother Ethel Anne (nee: Jasik), Brother Joseph John and sister Ethel Anne. He continues to be loved and respected by many for his honor, generosity and sense of humor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
