DUNLAP, Ruth Dailey (Stevens) Passed away peacefully at home in Palmdale, Calif., on Nov. 18, 2016. Born 1919, in Alexandria, La., Ruth grew up in Lakeland, Fla. She moved to Palmdale in 1954. She married Gordon Claire Stevens in 1945, widowed in 1963, married Chuck Dunlap in 1974, widowed in 1978. She is predeceased by sisters Amelia "Toots" Mallard and Elizabeth "Shing" Wells. Ruth is survived by children: John Stevens, Terri (Stevens) Boehm, and Cinde Stevens; grandchildren: Ron McKeehan (Daphne), Stacy Lemoine, and Jody Flores (Ernie);great-grandchildren: RJ McKeehan, Victoria Andrade, Austin Lemoine, Hanna Flores, Blake Lumley, Emma Flores, & Cole Flores. Ruth worked in the fabric department at Sprouse for over 15 years. Ruth was a gifted artist, from sign painting & show cards to beautifully intricate oil & watercolor paintings. She taught classes in sketching, painting, knitting/crochet & calligraphy at Michael's. Ruth also enjoyed playing the piano, talking on the telephone and puzzles of virtually any kind Jigsaw, sudoku, and crossword. No public burial service will be held. Ruth's family will host a Celebration of Life on January 7, 2017, at 1:00pm at her home in Palmdale.
