KENNON, Vernon Guy Bud
KENNON, Vernon Guy "Bud" Passed away Sept. 20, 2016 at Antelope Valley Hospital of complications resulting from his 2 year and 9 months battle against lung cancer. Bud was born February 2, 1951 in Palmdale but grew up in Lancaster. He attended Antelope Valley High School graduating in the class of 1969, where he was on the gymnastics team excelling on the high bar. He was also a member of the Hedonics Car Club. In high school he met and then later married Donna Pielech Kennon. They were together 45 years and had two children, Kristin and Kyle. Family was everything to him. Every year they would vacation in Carpinteria, Calif. Bud also liked to fish and hunt. He worked at Edwards AFB, JT-3 Facilities Maintenance Department and was training to become a locksmith, until he became too ill to work. Bud was preceded in death by his father Vernon Lee Kennon, nephew Joshua Rose, and sister-in-law Susan Pielech. He is survived by his wife Donna, daughter Kristin, son Kyle, mother Guylene Crafton, siblings Bonnie Rose, Judy (Jerry) Armstrong, Dan Kennon, and Joseph (Karen) Darr. Also Sandra Reynolds, Tony Kennon and step- mother Billie Dean Kennon. Nephews Derek Rose, Justin Armstrong, Jacob Armstrong, Michael Darr and Eric Slater. Nieces McKayla Darr , Jennifer Slater-Sanchez (Danny), Elise Hayes (Jeremy Jorgensen) Kelsie Sadler, great-nephew Jacob Sanchez and great- nieces Gracie Sanchez and Corey Jorgensen. Cousin Linda Rumsey and sons. In-laws Patricia (Alan) Slater, Nancy Hayes, Stephanie Pielech, and Eddie Pielech. Friends Tony Wade, Donny Oatley, Dennis Hayes and many more. The family would like to thank Dr. Dwight James, Dr. Crystal Emard, Matt Bentley, Shannon Flitton and the numerous people that helped Bud on his long journey. Thank you to all who visited him in his last days and a special thank you to the ICU staff at AV Hospital for treating him as a celebrity. WE shall forever be grateful. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 5pm-7pm at Mumaw Funeral Home. A mass will take place on Friday October 14, 2016 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lancaster, Calif. Burial to follow at Joshua Memorial Park.
