JENSEN, Douglas M.
JENSEN, Douglas M. 71, passed away August 10, 2016. He died at home in Lancaster, Calif. after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in San Jose, Calif. on September 17, 1944 to Martin and Ruth Jensen. His family moved to Stockton in 1952 and Doug graduated from Stagg High School in 1962. He earned a bachelors degree in English from Southern California College in 1967 before being drafted into the US Army in 1968. Douglas worked as a Budget Analyst in several locations for the federal government, including Sharpe Army Depot near Stockton. He was known as a man of kindness and integrity from the time he was a paper-boy for the Stockton Record, throughout his career, and after his retirement from NASA at Edwards Air Force Base in 2007. He was a blessing to many, keeping in touch with numerous friends and relatives, sharing new truths learned from his love of reading. He delighted others with his latest jokes and puns as well as his beautiful photographs of people, flowers, scenery and wildlife. In recent years he often reminded others of the simplest but most important truth, 'Jesus loves you.' He will be greatly missed by his wife, Margaret Jensen, his three sons and their wives, Derek and Amy, Andrew and Danelle and Jeffrey and Ruth, six grandchildren, three sisters, Linda, Debby, and Jennifer and numerous other relatives. Services will be held Monday, August 22, 2016. As a veteran he will receive military honors at Bakersfield National Cemetery at 10:00 am, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 am at St. Judes Anglican Church, 1200 S Curry St, Tehachapi, Calif.
