SPEER III William Arthur
SPEER III, William Arthur Passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016 in a car accident while on his way to work. His memorial service will be held at Eternal Valley 23287 Sierra Hwy., Newhall, Calif., 91321 on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 1:00 pm. William (Bill) Speer was born July 30, 1951 in Hugo, Okla. He was a devoted and successful owner of Morgan's Shoe Repair for 30 years in Lancaster, Calif., as well as Red Wing Shoe Repair in Oxnard, Calif., for 10 years. He married Deborah (Debbie) Leanean Caldwell September of 1968. Together they have three children: Gretchen, Jeffrey and Michael. Bill and Debbie have three grandchildren: Alyssa, Tara and Tanner. They recently became great-grandparents to Tara's son Grayden. In addition to his immediate family listed above, Bill is survived by his brother David and his many nieces, nephews and close friends. A devoted family man, Bill opened his home and his heart to all who entered it. He always put others before himself and was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back. There are many who would consider him a fatherly or grandfatherly figure because of the impact he made on their lives. A lover of corny jokes and playful banter, Bill always had a smile on his face. He is a perfect example of how people from Okla. are OK. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any contributions be donated to the American Diabetes Association.
