KUHN (Barry), Ervene Dell
KUHN (Barry), Ervene 'Dell' Born April 1, 1932 in Hamlin, Tex. Moved to Los Angeles, Calif. at the age of 4 and lived in LA County her whole life. Went to Benjamin Franklin High School in Los Angeles and graduated in June of 1950. Mom was surrounded by her loved ones who were in constant vigil by her bedside when she went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on June 28, 2016. She was diagnosed with cancer in late April and remained a fighter to the end. Mom had a brief marriage in the 1950s to Wilbur Williams and had 3 children by birth and the oldest son by love. She worked hard to provide and care for us, and she even made top 100 female recruits in the Los Angeles Police Dept., but decided to stay home and take care of her children. In 1961 she married our "dad" Charles J. Kuhn who had 4 children. Dad preceded her in death in 2008. She is survived by her children Ray Williams (Kathy), Lelah Kaufman (Richard), Darlene Ackley (Jerry), Kelly Williams (Joan), Buddy Kuhn (Tamera) Charles Kuhn Jr. and Christy Kuhn, 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, her brother Dennis Barry (Judy), her sister Juanell Stephens and her 6 cats, all of whom brought her great joy. As far as special qualities go, she was blessed with a bubbly sense of humor. She was born on April Fool's Day and used that to her advantage, playing jokes on her husband Chuck and children every year. She was a wine lover and always shared her collection with her guests. She valued her friendships and kept them alive for many years some over 50 years. Last but not least she was the master of flirting like her momma before her and it became a natural part of each of us. We are happy she is no longer suffering and has gone on to be with the Lord. She left us with a smile on her face, reflecting the peace in her heart. We will all miss her presence with us deeply. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Joshua Memorial Chapel. Closed casket for reflection will be 10:00 - 12:00, services will start at 12:00 Joshua Memorial Park, Lancaster www.joshuamortuary.com
