COOLIDGE Carol Millett
COOLIDGE, Carol Millett Passed away peacefully to return home to our lord in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in Tehachapi, Calif. at the age of 75. She was born on August 9, 1940 in American Fork, Utah to Leland Beal Millett and Lois Mable (Strong) Millett. Carol went to High School in Cheyenne, Wyo., where she was raised by her mother and stepfather Jim Emerick. While working in her parent's restaurant 'Jims CafŽ' she fell in love and married the father of her children, Airman William L. Coolidge. They traveled throughout the United States from Alaska to Washington, DC until finally setting in the Calif. Desert in 1971 and becoming a Mojave, Calif. resident in 1974. While raising her five children, Carol went back to school and worked as time allowed her. She worked for the Muroc School District and NASA during the space shuttle development era at Edwards. Then she focused on her BA Degree which she obtained from Calif. State, Bakersfield in 1984. Carol immediately upon graduation started teaching elementary school which was her calling in life, finding a home in the Rosamond School District where she tenured until her retirement in 2006. Carol was honored with Teacher of the Year as well. In the 1980's Carol was a founding member who started the 'Parents Do Care' group to curtail drug use in our local community. Carol was a devout Christian, religious and active in the church. She loved her bible study groups and the friends she found there. She loved our Lord Jesus Christ and lived her life to serve him. She enjoyed gardening and pottery. She is survived by five children: Gordon Coolidge, Richard Coolidge, Carolyn Coolidge, David Coolidge, Sheri Coolidge Dees, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the Wayside Chapel 2584 Felsite Ave. Rosamond, Calif., 93560
