MCKELL, Melburn E.
MCKELL, Melburn E Melburn was born July 18, 1928 in Payson, Utah. He joined the army during World War II, and served in Panama. He was a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Western States. He became a dentist, attending Loyola in Chicago. Mel married Mary Jean Hough, and they had 7 children; Lynn, Danny, David, Carola, Jordan, Ann, and Mark. Mary Jean died in a traffic accident, and later Mel married Judy Slater Gregory, who had 3 children: Launa, Paula, and Val. Mel loved all 10 of the children. He was a wonderful father. Mel had a green thumb, and loved to share his garden veggies. As a scout master, he took the boys on 50-mile hikes. He served in the church in the Bishopric and as a High Councilor. Mel was a dentist in Lancaster for 50 years. He was always an example of kindness and patience and love for his large family, and his many friends. We will honor Mel with services on Saturday, March 5, at the LDS Church on 1701 West Lancaster Blvd. The viewing is from 9:30 - 10:30 am, and the funeral is at 11:00 am.
