STEGEMAN Mary
STEGEMAN, Mary Passed away at her home in Quartz Hill on February 21, 2016 after an extended battle with cancer. Born Mary Pierce, August 10, 1934, she was a lifetime resident of So. Calif. She attended Canoga Park High School and graduated from U.C. Santa Barbara. Mary was employed for 15 years for the Valley News and Green Sheet as Assist. Manager for the classified section. Later she was active in volunteer work for the Lancaster office of the Sheriffs Dept. She was named Station Volunteer of the Year in 2000 and 2012, Mary and her husband enjoyed camping with their friends in the A.V. Dust Devils Club and traveled much of the U.S. in their R.V. She was a long time member of the Antelope Valley Genealogical Society and is leaving her extensive research to the downtown Los Angeles Library. Mary is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ron Stegeman, sister Lea Pierce, sons Charles Chambers and Jim Chambers , grandson Marc Chambers, nieces Marie LaCrosse and Linda Stegeman and nephews Paul Stegeman and Robert Stegeman. A catered Celebration of Life will be held on March 5, 2016 from 11 am to 3pm at the Desert Winds Community Church, 38117 13th St. E., Palmdale. In lieu of flowers or gifts, contributions may be made in her name to the Cancer society.
