FORTENBERRY, Bill W. and Patty Davis Bill W. Fortenberry, 67, and Patty Davis Fortenberry, 70, longtime residents of Lancaster, have passed away. Bill succumbed to cancer in Aug. 3, 2015 and Patty on Jan. 28, 2016 due to complications from long-term health issues. Bill grew up in Long Beach and Bakersfield, graduating from Bakersfield HS, and Patty, a native of Lebanon, Ind. , met Bill in 1963 on a trip to visit family in Long Beach. She eventually moved to Southern Calif., in 1975, where they married in 1976. Bill had a long career working for Lockheed Martin and Patty worked in local retail, retiring early due to health issues. In retirement, they enjoyed travel, visiting family members, and in later years, hanging out at Starbucks. Patty was an active 'Red Hat' member and played Bingo and Bunko. Bills hobby was photography. They are survived by Bills nephew Jerry Fortenberry and his family, and Pattys extended family, including her cousin amily, including her cousin Joy Wenzel of Los Angeles, her brothers, Delbert and Jeff of Lebanon, Ind., and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorials may be made to Marin Ventures, 350 Merrydale Road, San Rafael, Calif. 94903, a nonprofit program for adults with developmental disabilities that Patty and Bill supported in the last several years of their lives. Arrangements were entrusted to Mumaw Funeral Home in Lancaster. At their request, no services were held.
