SHIRK Alan Boyce
SHIRK, Alan Boyce Born March 4, 1938 in Los Angeles, Calif. Passed away after a long battle with cancer on January 23, 2016 in his Palmdale home of 57 years. He is survived by his wife 'Bobbie' of 57 years, sons, Mark and Greg;, daughter, Stacie; grandchildren, Breanna, Justin, Cameron, Austin, Josh, Chloe, Mariah, Emily, Hannah and Nathan; brother, Richard; and sister, Marilyn. Boyce was preceded in death by his son, Neal. Boyce served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956-1962. He moved to Palmdale with his wife Bobbie and for 36 years was employed with the Los Angeles Co. Public Works Survey Division and also did private surveying on the side. He worked on the many highways, streets, etc. in the Northern L.A. County we travel on today. Boyce loved being with his wife, children, grandchildren, friends, and family, gardening, watching and attending sports, and his passion was traveling throughout the United States. Our Boyce was a wonderful, sweet and caring man who will be so greatly missed and will remain always in our hearts. He was our rock. God has you now in his keeping. We love you Boyce! A funeral service will be held at 10am Monday, February 1, 2016 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Palmdale, Calif. His final resting place will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park also in Palmdale, Calif.
