MORISSET, Marshal J.
MORISSET, Marshal J. Formerly of Quartz Hill, Calif, passed away on January 24, 2016. He was 88, born on March 17, 1927 in San Francisco. Marshal was a World War II veteran serving in the Navy in the south Pacific. After his service to his country, he became a jet engine mechanic working for Northrop. Marshal retired from Pratt and Whitney in 1993 and was a jet engine mechanic at Air Force Plant 42, Production Flight Test Installation in Palmdale and Edwards Air Force Base. During his career he worked on the SR-71, X-15, F-15, F-117 and several other aircraft. After leaving the Navy, he graduated from Compton College with an A.A. (Associate of Arts Degree) in 1947 and Northrop Institute of Technology , Flight Mechanic in 1949. He qualified several times as an expert civilian marksman with the M-1 carbine and was an active member of the NRA. Marshal is survived by his daughter, Marsha Hull and his son-in-law, Ken, of Beavercreek, Ohio; two granddaughters, Heather Greenbaum and her husband Lanny of Ft. Meade, Maryland and their son and daughter, Whitney Hull and her two daughters of Stowe, Vermont; his sister Carole Georges and her husband Joe of Castro Valley; nephews Mark Schaefer, Karl Schaefer, Frank Schaefer of Southern California and Christopher Georges, niece Maura Georges of San Francisco. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie, his father Marshal G. Morisset and his mother Agnes; his sister Marilynn. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. January 29, 2016 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Father Serra Parish in Quartz Hill, California. Burial will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Palmdale, California.
