HARRINGTON, JOHN W. Born November of 1931 in Montana, died peacefully in December 2015, at the age 84, in Lancaster, Calif. from pneumonia and complications of liver cirrhosis. Served in the US Air Force in his early 20s, married his sweetheart Mignon in 1955 and had 4 children. Worked for General Electric as an electronics engineer with the NASA Space Program: first with Atlas Missiles, then the Apollo Moon Landing Program, Skylab, and finally the Space Shuttle. He also worked for a while for Northrup Grumman on the B2 Stealth Bomber Program after retiring from GE. Enthusiastically supported his childrens adventures through Scouting, Marching Band, ornamental horticulture, bee keeping, the US Naval Academy, and lost of cross-country travels. Survived by brother, Michael Harrington of Ore., sons Patrick and Gerald, daughters Kathleen and Rebecca, 8 grandchildren, and 2 great-granddaughters. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, 2016 at the Lancaster United Methodist Church. Burial to follow at Joshua Memorial Park, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Johns name, through Grace Resources, to the Lancaster Community Shelter, on Yucca Ave., where John worked part-time in his later years.
