ROJAS, Gilbert M. Jan. 18, 1936 - Dec. 20, 2015 Gil was born in Los Angeles, Calif. and passed away in Lancaster, Calif. He graduated from Montebello High School in 1954. He served as a private first class in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957 and then attended Fullerton college. Gil began his career at Bank of America, where he worked for 25 years in various positions, ultimately promoting to Vice President. During that time, he moved to the Antelope Valley where he resided for over 39 years. Additionally, he worked at several other banks in various positions. He was actively involved in various community organizations including, Desert Haven, park View Little League, Chamber of Commerce, and The Elks Lodge. Gil loved good jokes, and sports, especially golf, but his passion was building hot rod cars. He loved attending car shows and was a member of the ÔPastimers car club. Gil was preceded in death by his brother Ronald (Sherrill), parents, Cecil and Laura, and wife Elizabeth. He has 5 children: Kenny, Raelene, and Keri Rojas; Christy Wiggins and Stacey Patterson (Cleve); and 6 grandchildren: Emily, Ashley, Kyle, Brett, Bree, and Cole. Gil also enjoyed sending time with Linda Boyles, his girlfriend of many years. A memorial service will be held at Joshua Memorial Park and Mortuary on Jan. 9, 2016 at 4:00 p.m.
