KUKIC, Helena
KUKIC, Helena T. Beloved wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, friend; was quietly released from her dementia to join our Father in Heaven on Dec. 19, 2015. She joins her husband, Steve Kukic, and so many other family members and friends. It will be quite the party as Helena organizes and cooks the best meal ever! Helena achieved and contributed so much in her rich and long life. She was born in Adderly, Pa., on Jan. 19, 1926. She married Steve on Sept. 8, 1946. They were together here for over 65 years. She worked for IBM in the 1940s. She used those skills to start her career at Edwards AFB in 1952. When she retired, she had become a management analyst at Edwards, the only woman and the only one without a college degree in that position. In her 'retirement' she volunteered over 12,000 hours at the AV Med Center and served the Lancaster Womens Club in many positions including being president. Helena crocheted and knitted with the best of them. Forever loving her still in this life are her sons Stevan and David; Stevans wife Jan, daughters Stephanie Baldwin and her husband Ben and son, Teddy) and Kelly Turner (and her daughters, Ciara and Megan), and son Eric Van Hooser; as well as Davids wife Susan, daughter Maria, and son Joseph. Helena had very special relationships with Helena and Steves niece, Tammy Flanagan; their best friends, Ralph and Mary Thomas; and their scores of other family and friends. Helena was an energetic, loving, commanding presence in all our lives. We miss her and revere her memory. Services will be held at the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church (43404 30th St. W in Lancaster on Jan. 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Flowers should be sent to the church. Burial will be at Joshua Memorial Park and Mortuary (808 E. Lanc. Blvd). A light reception will follow the graveside service. www.joshuamortuary.com
