MATTAROCCI, Bruce Bruce was born in Lancaster, Calif., on Sept. 9, 1957 to Thomas & Helen Mattarocci. On Oct. 24, 2015 he went to be with the Lord at the age of 58, due to diabetes and heart failure. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Mattarocci, and survived by his mother Helen, as well as the families Mattarocci, Holmes, German, Pearce & Most. He met the Lord at Lancaster Christian School, then attended Palmdale schools, playing baritone horn in the Palmdale High School Band. After starting as a certified draftsman for Ford Aerospace, he transitioned to design engineer, and one of his colleagues wrote the following about Bruce: 'In Bruces professional life, he was a design engineer for more than 30 years. He contributed his talents to many aircraft including the T45 Trainer, the C-17 Cargo Lift, Commercial McDonnell Douglas and Boeing airliners, the F35 Joint Strike Fighter and most recently the State of the Art Boeing 787 Dreamliner at Rockwell Collins in Irvine. In addition to aircraft, Bruce also contributed mechanical designs for the Mars Rover at JPL. He was a valued employee and a much in demand mentor for new engineers out of college. His quiet demeanor, superior skills and wry sense of humor are going to be missed by his friends and peers in companies throughout the Southern Calif. region.' Graveside services will be held at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 2200 East Ave. S. in Palmdale at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015. Reception following. Associate Pastor Rich Cowe of Calvary Chapel AV, will be conducting the service.
