RASMUSSEN, Robert Michael
RASMUSSEN, Robert Michael Robert, 49, died Thursday October 15, 2015, in a tragic flash flood in Palmdale, California. While driving from work, the force of the rushing water and mud swept his van into an unsecured catch basin, where he was discovered covered by six feet of mud nearly five days later. He was born March 25, 1966, to Virginia and Loyd Rasmussen. Robert was raised in Chatsworth, California, and was always known to be an expressive, enthusiastic, fun-loving, young man. Everyone who knew him could attest that he had a huge heart for others and was always the first person to be there when you needed help. A skilled painter, and a handyman that could fix almost anything, God must have needed something painted in heaven. Robert recently was baptized, and although knew God for many years, really devoted himself over the past few months. The family is staying strong, faithful that they will see him again. Robert is survived by his son, Michael Rasmussen; mother, Virginia Driscoll; step-father, Ross Driscoll Sr.; sisters, Debra McCourt and Deanna Shetler; brother, Ross Driscoll Jr.; step-sister, Claudine Driscoll; and twelve nieces and nephews that will miss him very much. He was preceded in death by his father, Loyd Rasmussen. There will be a Memorial to celebrate Robert's life at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2015, at The Highlands Christian Fellowship. It is located at 39625 20th Street West, Palmdale, CA 93551. There will be a potluck reception following the service so that loved ones can share some of their favorite memories of Robert.
