He was a founder of A V Country Club and was an avid golfer until age 88. He continued to enjoy his weekly card games at the Club until age 90. His lifelong love of the beach culminated with boogie boarding with his kids at Carpinteria Beach at age 90. He was predeceased by his parents Anne Daluiso and Giovanni Battista Currado (immigrants of Italy), his sister Palma Carone and his first wife, Dorothy, mother of their four children.
