COCKERILL, Cyril
COCKERILL, Cyril Born February 14, 1930 in Anlaby, England, passed away September 11, 2015 in Lancaster. In England, he became a member of the Royal Navy, sailing to South Africa and Malta. He learned the trade of auto mechanic and then aeronautical engineer. His work as an aeronautical engineer brought him to the United States in December, 1969. In December, 1979, he settled in the Antelope Valley, after having previously lived in East Northport, N.Y., Torrance, Calif. and Canada. His life in Antelope Valley was filled with his lifelong enjoyment of raising animals, mostly turkeys, pigs and sheep, playing darts, restoring old farm equipment and restoring old Studebaker automobiles. He was active in many levels of the Loyal Order of Moose and for many years ran the Moose booth at the Antelope Valley Fair. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jacqueline; son Anthony and daughter Belinda; granddaughter Jennifer and grandson in-law Cody; granddaughter Victoria, and five of the many dogs and cats that he kept as pets. Memorial Services will be held at 11am, September 19, 2015 at the Lancaster Moose Lodge.
