BROOKS, Wilma Celeste Orr
BROOKS, Wilma Celeste Orr Dec. 24, 1925-Aug. 18, 2015 Wilma was born in Calvin, Oklahoma and graduated from Hitchcock High School in Hitchcock, Oklahoma in 1943. She married Lu Arthur Brooks on June 30, 1943. They lived in the Antelope Valley since 1955. Wilma started as a clerk in the Antelope Municipal Court in 1956 and retired as Court Administrator of Antelope Judical District on January 10, 1987 after 31 years of service. As for recreation, Wilma was an avid bowler for many years and participated with many teams. They raised a daughter Linda Lu Brooks White and a son Brian Curtis Brooks. Then in their late 60s they adopted their great- granddaughters, Natasha Rae and Katrina Elizabeth Kern and Kelly Mae Cooper Barr, ages 3 to 6. As a widow at age 86, Wilma took over raising her great- great-granddaughter Amelia Celeste Eileen Brooks. Wilma is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, a grandson Everett Eugene Lee and a granddaughter Becky Caterina Weigle. She leaves her biological and adopted children; 7 grandchildren, Illona Linnea Anderson, Celeste Leanor Mott, Arthur Lyle White, Brenda Christine Fieri, Brian Christopher Brooks, Bradford Curtis Brooks and Brittany Crystal Brooks; 4 great- grandchildren, Tyler James Brink, Danielle Christine Anderson, Amanda Grace Anderson and Alyssa Lauren Brooks and one other great-great-grandchild Asher Ferrin Arthur Barr. Wilma achieved much in her life and provided well for all of her family. She was a caring, giving and generous woman who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, August 29, 2015 at New Life Fellowship Church, 725 East Ave J, Lancaster. Arrangements handled by Joshua Memorial Park, Lancaster
