WILLIAMS, Oliver Linwood
WILLIAMS, Oliver Linwood On August 11, 2015 at 12:24 am we lost our beloved father and friend, Oliver Linwood Williams. Oliver went by 'Lin' most of his life and was known as 'Ollie' among colleagues at EAFB where he worked as a radar engineer attached to the 6521st range squadron for 35+ years and retired with many performance accolades in approximately 1990. He later worked for NASA and others during the 90s. Oliver was born in 1934 in Avon, (Dare Co) on the outer banks of North Carolina. He joined the Air Force after high school and moved to the Antelope Valley in 1954 while serving. Oliver was interested in watching sports; (Dodgers and College Basketball) and technology, but spending time with his family was what he loved the most. He was very generous with his family and was the kindest, sweetest man, many of us ever had the pleasure to know. He is survived by his son Jeremy Williams; his step-children, Debbie Bloom and Donald Richeson; his grandchildren, Mannah Williams, Bianca Bloom all of Lancaster, Calif., Breana Kohan of Loganville, Ga., and Chloe Shoulders, (nee Samsel-Williams of Florissant Mo.); 4 great-grandchildren; dear friend Rosemary Brown; nieces, nephews, friends and relatives in North Carolina. He is terribly missed; our only solace is that he left to join his beloved wife of over 40 years, Delores Williams, who preceded him in death in April 2014. Viewing will be held from 9-11 am, Fri. Aug. 21, 2015 with Chapel service at 11 am and burial to follow at Joshua Memorial Park , Lancaster www.joshuamortuary.com
