JACKSON, Carl Cecil
JACKSON, Carl Cecil Age 93, born Nov. 29, 1921 to Leroy W. Jackson and Dora Ethel Loftin in Witts Springs, Ark. The family moved to Burbank and eventually to the AV in 1932. He graduated from AV High School in 1940. Petty Officer 2nd Class Carl served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1945 as a Motor Machinist Mate, during World War II on the USS Core and the USS Rockaway. After the war he worked in the aerospace industry, concrete and carpentry industry and owned trucks and heavy equipment. He was owner builder of 2 homes. Carl passed away on Aug. 1, 2015 in Lancaster with family at his side. Carl married Norma Jean Lowen in 1942, divorced and met Joan S Davis with her son Stephen Reynolds. Carl and Joan married in 1952, divorced in 1955. Joan remarried and had Roseanna, Sally and Mike Davis. Carl is survived by his ex-wife Norma Jean; sons, Carl C. Jr., and John J.; daughter Gayla R. Sugden; grandchildren, David Jackson, Dawn Moir, Daniel Sugden and Michelle Underwood and great grandchildren, Ian Adrian, Ella and Grant. Viewing will be held at 12 noon, with Graveside services at 2 pm, Aug. 15, 2015 at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, 808 E. Lancaster Blvd.
