KELTNER, George
KELTNER, George George came to Calif., with his parents and attended St. Marys Catholic School in downtown Los Angeles in the early 1940s. George and his mother were able to move to Lancaster in 1945 where he attended Cedar Ave. Elementary School and AV High School, graduating class of 1952. In high school, George met Alice Ann Collier. They were married in Las Vegas in 1952. George's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Gertie Keltner founded Keltner Van & Storage in Lancaster in 1946. George was a member of the Ottawa Indian tribe of Oklahoma and the Lancaster Elks Lodge. He worked at Edwards A.F.B. in the Civil Engineering division from 1952-1989, and at the AV Mosquito Abatement District for 10 yrs. George loved rodeos, the AV Fair, chili cook-offs and weekend trips to Las Vegas with his wife, family and friends. He took camping trips to Bishop, Tom's Place, June Lake, Bass Lake and Lake Tahoe with his wife, kids and grandkids. A Fin & Feather Club member, he enjoyed fishing Lake Palmdale with his wife, family and friends. George is survived by wife Alice Ann; his son Jerry & wife Debra; his daughter-in-law Lenny; granddaughter, Tamara Carr (Jason); grandsons, John (Meegan), Matthew, Marc (Carole) and Michael (Shanae) and his great-grandchildren, J.T., Lacey, Maddison, Alyson Keltner, and Devon and Cole Carr. He is preceded in death by son Thomas W. Keltner (2014). George was a kind, generous and loving man who will be missed by his family, close friends and all who knew him. He went home to be with the Lord, and those whom he loved who went before him, on July 30, 2015. A memorial service in his honor will be held at 12 pm, Sat., Aug. 8, 2015 at the Lancaster ELKS Lodge, 240 E. Ave. K, Lancaster, CA 93535
