TAYLOR, John Erl Jack
TAYLOR, John Erl 'Jack' Long-time resident of Palmdale California, passed peacefully from this life on June 27, 2015, at the age of 85. John was born on November 15, 1929, in Rexburg Idaho, the youngest child of seven siblings in Asael and Margaret Taylor's family. From repairing tires and bicycles in his father's shop, to delivering newspapers, installing carpeting and cutting glass for windows, hauling, cutting, and stacking lumber, John developed skills in woodworking and electronics that would benefit his family, friends, and neighbors for years to come. After military service, John moved to California and began a career at Lockheed, assembling President Eisenhower's Air Force One, and eventually traveling the world with the U2 and SR-71 programs. In retirement, John supervised school crossing guards for several years. One of his greatest delights was sharing his experiences with aircraft and personal interests in technology and nature with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. John is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Clea Elsie Beck, along with their four children, Linda Madison, John Taylor Jr., Paula Jones, Steve Taylor, foster-son Bryant Beesley, 15 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Also, one sister, Mary Jane Misner, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial celebrating his life will be held 6 pm, Thursday, July 2, 2015, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 39546 23rd Street West in Palmdale, with interment at the Sutton Cemetery in Archer, Idaho.
