LONG, William Mark
LONG, William Mark Age 58, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015. He was born to the late Jim and Alice Long (later Mitchell), April 10, 1957, in Reedley, Calif. 'Mark' moved to the Antelope Valley with his family at the age of 6, and attended local schools including Piute, and Antelope Valley High School. He married the love of his life, Patsy Combs in 1976. Mark was owner of CBS Automotive in Quartz Hill, Calif., and an auto mechanic for more than three decades. He was a skilled cook and 'grill-master,' who also enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, camping, and motorcycles. He was proud to pass on his experience and knowledge to his children and grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly. Mark had a tremendous sense of humor and a huge heart. He treated friends and strangers alike with kindness and generosity. Mark is survived by his wife, Patsy Long; his seven children; Christy, Karen, Tricia (Plamondon), Jimmy, Marvin, Scott and Leslie; as well as his 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2pm, Thursday June 11, 2015 at Grace Chapel, 44648 15th St. W, Lancaster. Followed by a brief graveside service at Joshua Memorial Cemetery, 808 East Lancaster Blvd. Family and friends are invited afterward to return to Grace Chapel to share food and memories in Mark's honor. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family's gofundme campaign to help offset the cost of interment.
