HOVERMAN, William O Bill was born on February 6, 1926 in Albany, New York and passed away on May 3, 2015. He was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout with the BSA at age 14. Building his own equipment, he was licensed as an amateur radio operator in 1941 and continued a lifetime pursuit of electronics and physics. He graduated from Albany High School and from Brown University, Class of '47, and served as dispersing officer aboard the USS Spokane in the European theater. Following his discharge from the U.S. Navy, he held executive positions at General Electric Company, Northrop and Rockwell International, retiring in 1988.
