RAYWORTH, Betty Jean
RAYWORTH, Betty Jean Betty resided in the Antelope Valley for 50 years. She passed away April 13, 2015 in Palmdale. Betty was born on Dec. 5, 1923 to Eleanor and Arthur Teel in Walnut Park, Calif. and grew up in Long Beach, Calif. She grew up in the depression era and survived World War II as a "Rosie the Riveter." Betty married John G. Rayworth on May 10, 1946, they were married 47 years before John preceded her in death in 1993. Betty was a friend to all she met and never knew a stranger. She saw the good in everyone, laughed easily, and loved a good joke. She was active in Palmdale Elks and Eastern Star. She was owner and operator of Desert Doll Beauty Salon in Palmdale, Calif., for over 30 years. She was an accomplished organist at her church, she loved line dancing/Jitterbug, crafts and sewing, crocheting/knitting and loved her dogs, Jerry & Mac. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Betty is survived by her son, Fred (Kim) and daughter Kathy Trosin (Butch), four grandchildren, Rhonda, Brooke, Casey (Bridget), Elise (Kevin) and six great grandchildren. Betty will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband John at Desert Lawn Memorial in Palmdale, CA.
