KING, Jay L. Jack
KING, Jay L. 'Jack' Passed away peacefully at home at the age of 97 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Burkburnett, Texas, and moved to Calif., after getting married in 1939. Jack loved working in the garage, building things, playing cards and especially playing golf. He continued to play up until age 91. In his golf career, he had 23 holes in one. He invented, designed and built the 'Caddie King', which is a lightweight metal carrier for 6 clubs and a few supplies. He worked as an aircraft mechanic at North American, Douglas, Lockheed and finally at NASA until his retirement in 1982. He is survived by his children Clara King, Jay (Diane) King, Dennis King, Brenda (Ron) LaFleur and Philip King, daughter-in-law Donna King, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack is preceded in death by his wife of 73 years Ada, his parents, Lewis and Effie King, 11 brothers and sisters and his son Donald. Arrangements were provided by Halley Olsen Murphy Funeral Home. Jack's final resting place will be at Joshua Memorial Cemetery alongside his wife Ada and his son Donald. He leaves behind many friends and family members and also a legacy of love, family values and a strong work ethic. He attributes his long, healthy life to continual physical activity, big band music, teasing and a daily treat of graham crackers and milk.
