KOSITCHEK, Don M. Born in Chicago, Illinois on March 15, 1919, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 less than a week after his 96th birthday. As a World War II Veteran, Don was a Captain in the U.S. Army Air Corps who piloted planes for high ranking generals, including then, Five Star General Dwight D. Eisenhower. While piloting a C-47, his plane was hit by German gunfire causing it to loose both engines. He was still able to make a safe landing, saving the lives of his crew, 18 generals and their aides. Don continued his love of flying for more than 50 years. Don will be sorely missed by his beloved wife of 73 years, Gloria Vinton Kositchek; their three sons, Jim, Larry and Tom, along with their wives, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 pm, Friday, March 27, 2015 at Joshua Memorial Park, 808 E. Lancaster Blvd.,
