KING, Jay L. Jack
KING, Jay L. 'Jack' Passed away peacefully at home at the age 97 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Burkburnett, Texas, and moved to Calif. after getting married in 1939. Jack loved working in the garage, building things, playing cards and especially playing golf. He continued to play up until age 91. In his golf career, he had 23 holes in one. He invented, designed and built the 'Caddie King', which is a lightweight metal carrier for 6 clubs and a few supplies. He worked as an aircraft mechanic at North American, Douglas, Lockheed and finally at NASA until his retirement in 1982. He is survived by his children Clara King, Jay (Diane) King, Dennis King, Brenda (Ron) LaFleur and Philip King, daughter-in-law Donna King, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and, numerous nieces and nephews. Jay is preceded in death by his wife of 73 years Ada, his parents, Lewis and Effie King, 11 brothers and sisters and his son Donald. Viewing will be held at Halley Olsen Murphy Funeral Home 44831 N. Cedar Ave. on Fri. March 27, 2015 at 10am, a memorial service at 11am, graveside service to follow at Joshua Memorial Cemetery, 808 E. Lancaster Blvd.
