FRENCH, III, Richard Dale
In Memory Richard Dale French III A year ago today a wonderful man left this world. Richard was born September 15, 1961 in South Ruslip, England to Richard Dale French II and Agnes Marie Engel. He joined the Air Force in 1979, serving for 26 years. He was a Special Operations C-130 Crew Chief for the first 16 years of his career. He then went to the Defense Attache Office, serving overseas at US Embassies for seven years. He worked briefly on C-130s in Texas and then finished his career at Edwards AFB with the B-2 bombers. Rich retired as a Senior Master Sergeant (E-8) in 2005. While serving, he attended Embry Riddle Aeronutical University at night, graduating cum laude with a Bachelors degree in Professional Aeronautics. When he retired, he traded airplanes for elevators, working first for OTIS and then Thyssen Krupp Elevator. He was well respected by the mechanics that worked for him, his peers in management, and all of his clients. His calm demeanor and positive presence drew in everyone who met him. He was very active in the community, serving for years as a board member in the homeowners association, and coaching AYSO soccer. He was very generous with his time and his finances. His greatest pride, however, was his family. Richard and his wife Angela have 7 children and 2 grandchildren. Their children are Tegan Leigh, Tasha Lynn, Nicole Liana, Matthew Ryan, Meghan Elizabeth, Richelle Darlene, and Amie Jolene. Their granddaughters are Alena Leigh French and Zoey Noel Smith. Richard loved his family above all else, and they were his priority in all things. All of his non-working hours were spent supporting his wife and childrens pursuits. His absence has left a sad hole in all their lives. Rich is loved and missed by all who knew him.
