GUERNSEY, Alice Verrell Parks)
GUERNSEY, Alice Verrell (Parks) Born October 22, 1939 in Rexburg, Idaho and went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 14, 2015 in Lancaster, Calif. A much loved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Niece, Cousin, Friend and Neighbor. Alice was married to Ronald Rischar (d. 1999) and they had 6 children, sons, Randy (Mary), Rick (Diana), Roger (Laura), Robert (Carnette) Rischar; daughters, Renee (Craig) Weber and Rhonda Lea (d.1961). The marriage ended in 1975. She met and married Gerald Guernsey (d. 2008) in 1986 and added 3 stepchildren to the family, Brock (Anita) and Brent (Dale Christensen) and Linda (Steve) Green. She has 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and counting. She is also survived by her sister Jeanne Taber and many much loved extended family members. A long time Antelope Valley resident, Alice also called Pocatello, Idaho her home with her husband Gerald Guernsey. She loved traveling and cruising, having been to 49 of the United States, enjoyed a cruise down through the Panama Canal in 2014 with her daughter, sister and two of her aunts. She was employed by Sears and the Antelope Valley Bus Company and was a member of the Lancaster School Board in the 1960s and 70s. She was an active member of the Relief Society, LDS and Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was always there to lend a helping hand to family, friends and strangers and will be extremely missed. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm, Friday, March 20, 2015 at Halley Olsen Murphy Funerals and Cremations , 44831 Cedar St. Lancaster, CA. Celebration of her Life will be held at 11 am, Saturday, March 21, 2015 with a viewing at 10 am, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, 1701 W. Lancaster Blvd., Lancaster, CA.
