DETJEN, Patricia Ann
DETJEN, Patricia Ann April 13, 1929 - Feb. 9, 2015 Patricia age 85 and a long-time resident of the Antelope Valley passed away peacefully with family at her side in Modesto Calif. Survived by her two daughters, Christine Davenport, Jennifer Detjen, and son Joel Detjen. She is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Walter, and her eldest son Dale. Born in Oakland, Calif. her parents moved her to Fresno when she was an infant and where she remained until marrying her husband Walter and relocating in 1951 to the Antelope Valley. Known for her love of music she played the piano for her church, Grace Lutheran Church in Lancaster and also was employed at Antelope Valley College as an accompanist for vocal students. If you knew Patricia you came to appreciate her spontaneity along with her effervescent personality. She wouldn't think twice about getting into one of her cars and traveling hours to visit family. One hour or seven hours, it didn't matter. Her family was very important to her. She was one-of-a-kind and we thank the Lord for what she brought to our lives. She will be greatly missed by all who love her. Graveside services will be held Saturday February 14, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Joshua Memorial Park, 808 East Lancaster Boulevard, Lancaster, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the Lutheran Church or the Hospice Foundation of Stanislaus County.
