JUDD, James A.
JUDD, James A. 'JJ', as he was known to his friends, age 67, passed away peacefully on Dec. 12, 2014 at Antelope Valley Hospital with his sister by his side. Jim was a 1966 graduate of Palmdale High School and then joined the Navy in 1968. He trained as a machinist on the U.S.S. Sierra that was stationed in Norfolk, Va. After an honorable discharge and a final rank of Petty Officer 2nd Rank in 1972, he joined Lockheed as a flight test mechanic on numerous planes throughout his career and then worked his way up to becoming the crew chief on the T-38 plane before retiring in 2008. Jim had many varied interests during his life which included motorcycles, horses, call firefighter, and being a collector of antique guns, cartridges and power cans. But he was well known for his competitive shooting and especially skill at cartridge black powder shooting which garnered him many awards. Jim is survived by sister Patricia, brother-in-law Eric, nephew Kris, nephew Terry, 3 great nephews and 2 great nieces. The family is inviting all of JJs friends to a remembrance of his life on Sat., Jan. 24, 2015 from, 1-3PM at the home of his sister, call for directions.
