DAUGHERTY, Johanna Maria (Haller) Dale Born Jan. 4, 1926 in Vienna, Austria passed away Dec. 28, 2014 at her home in Lancaster, Calif. Johanna grew up and fled Vienna, Austria with 2 other women. She met and married an American Sgt. Joseph Dale deceased. After the sudden death of Sgt. Dale the American Red Cross sponsored her and daughter Adelaide to come to America. She moved to Brooklyn, N.Y., then moved to California in her 30s and became a U.S. citizen. She worked for a few companies, then became a housekeeper for a Dentist for many years, till she met and married PM Daugherty deceased. She was a loving, kind, caring, respected American citizen with a stubborn Austrian streak. She was fair to all. She served Jesus through her Catholic beliefs. She said 'I will make it'. She raised my sister Adelaide Christine and I, Johanna Elizabeth with love, kindness & good work ethics. I couldnt have molded a better person to be my mom. Johanna is survived by her daughters, Adelaide Christine, Johanna Elizabeth; stepsons, Mark and Peter; stepdaughters, Connie, Kathy , Mary; 22 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
