TINSLEY, Thomas Patrick
TINSLEY, Thomas Patrick Age 68, of Palmdale, passed Friday, January 3, 2014. He was born to the late Kenneth and Alma Lou Tinsley March 14, 1946. Tom graduated from Palmdale High School in 1964. He went on to earn his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from California State University Long Beach, where he pursued studies in the fields of History and Sociology. He then returned to Palmdale where he later united with his future wife, Anita, and they lived together thereafter. Tom was an adjunct professor at Antelope Valley College and was passionate about the study of history. An avid reader, he enjoyed learning, educating and sharing with others about U.S. history, world history and current affairs. Tom also sold and developed land in the Antelope Valley and had a great affection for his hometown of Palmdale. Tom enjoyed the history and culture of the Antelope Valley. He had great appreciation for community landmarks such as the St. Andrew's Abbey and was a loyal patron of the local libraries. Tom is survived by his wife, Anita; step-daughter Natasha; brother Tim, sister-in-law Charlene; nephews, Kenneth and James. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to the Palmdale Library Branches be made. A memorial will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2014, at 2 pm at the Antelope Valley Country Club, 39800 Country Club Drive in Palmdale.
