LeGRANT, Jr., Lawernce Burton
LeGRANT, Jr., Lawrence Burton 'Larry' age 85, passed away after battling cancer, on Oct. 27, 2014. Larry, born July 20, 1929, grew up in Longview. Wash. He served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force and worked as an aircraft mechanic for several companies. Larry settled in Lancaster in 1964 with Lockheed, where he was associated with the Skunkworks Program and worked on the SR71 and the U2 aircraft. He retired in 1995 and moved to New Mexico. Larry's first wife Anna LeGrant passed before him after a marriage of 21 years. Larry's second wife of 30 years, Mildred LeGrant, passed before him also. Also surviving him are his children, Jon LeGrant of Danville and Fisher, Ill., Threasa (Teri) Miller of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Matthew LeGrant of Arlington, Va. Larry leaves behind his companion, two sisters, seven grandchildren, and several great- grandchildren. Larry enjoyed being at home, reading, sailing, and spending time with his loved ones and family. He loved people and will be remembered for his generosity, loving commitment to friends and family, his sense of humor, a wonderful smile and a great laugh. Donations may be made in his name to the Bonnie Dallas Senior Center of Farmington, NM, the American Cancer Society, and the Macular Degeneration Foundation, Inc.
