CONKLIN, Sr., Jack Ernest
CONKLIN, Sr., Jack Ernest Age 88, passed away on Thurs., Dec. 11, 2014 from cancer. He was born on July 17, 1926 to Leo and Helen Philippsen Conklin in Davenport, Iowa, the oldest of 6 children. Jack served in the Navy during World War II as a Radio Operator. After the war, he became a police officer in Bettendorf, Iowa. In 1960, he moved his family to Lancaster, Calif. Jack worked as a security officer for both Lockheed on the U2 Program and then with Rockwell/ Boeing until he retired in 1988. He enjoyed bowling and golfing. He was a lifetime member of the Ham Radio Club, VFW, American Legion, B.P.O. Elks, and a longtime member of the Lancaster Moose Lodge. Jack is survived by his loving family: his wife, Virginia; son, Steve (Sonja) Conklin; daughter, Maryellen Conklin Hosanna; son, Marc (Michelle) Conklin; son, Arthur (Deanne) Pettit; daughter, Ginger (Attila) Pettit Rethi; his grand- children; great-grand- children; and sister, Sandra Lottermoser. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia; and his son, Jack Jr. A memorial service is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sat., Jan. 17, 2015, at the Lancaster Moose Lodge #1926, 44545 Division St., Lancaster, Calif. Interment will be at Joshua Memorial Park, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jack to the Lancaster Moose Lodge or to a charity of your choice.
