EPPICH, Darel Larsen a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend left this world on November 21, 2014.Darel Larsen Eppich was born on March 17, 1930 to Vern and Dorthy Eppich in Preston, Idaho at his grandmothers home. Darel was raised in Utah doing farm work with his father. He served as a Corporalin the USArmy from December 1948 through June 1952. A wounded Veteran in the Korean War, Darel received a purple heart as well as 5 bronze stars for his service. Darel moved to the Antelope Valley with his two sons in 1966. He later me t Sally and married her and her 5 children on January 21, 1970. His career was in heating and air conditioning. He spent ten years at Boeing, a few at Lockheed, and later worked civil service at EAFB maintaining their boilers and other equipment. In between work and raising seven children, his hobbies were fishing, camping, gold digging, and gambling.A member of the Juniper Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Darel is survived by the following family members: sister, Donna Forsberg; brother, Paul Eppich (Helen); brother, Kenny Eppich (Brenda). Also survived by his children Michael Eppich (Teri), Kree Lindsey (David), Kim Berry (Genevieve), Alice Fiore, Jess Berry (Janet), and his favorite daughter Gail Wells (Mike). He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren,numerous nieces and nephews and his precious dog, Peaches. Darel is preceded in death by his beloved wife Sally in 2006 and his eldest son Timothy in 2011. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1701 West Lancaster Blvd. There will be an open viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place 10:31 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA. The arrangements are being handled by Halley Olsen Murphy Funerals & Cremations, Lancaster.
