McDONALD, Eugene Thomas
McDONALD, Eugene Thomas 'Gene' Born February 14, 1921 in Dushore, Pa. to John and Claire Cadden McDonald. Passed away November 16, 2014 in Rosamond, Calif. Gene grew up in Dushore, Pa., lived in New York and California. Gene served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He received his BA in Business from St. Johns University, Flushing N.Y. He retired from American Airlines after 37 years. His greatest accomplishments were being a Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. He was Dodgers biggest fan. Gene is survived by sons Mark of Altanta, Ga. and Edward of Rosamond, Calif., by his daughters Mary Claire (Scott) Lanski, of Lancaster, Calif, Anne Marie (Keith) Purdy of Mahopac, N.Y., Elizabeth (Terry) Purdy of Verbank, N.Y., Patricia Rogers of Chatsworth, Calif. Noreen Varnell of Rosamond, Calif., also by 17 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren. Gene was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years Anne M. McDonald and daughter Karen Guzman. Gene was always there for his family, most would say the backbone of the Family. Gene was strong, wise and kind man. Loved by all he will be truly missed. He is now reunited with his beloved wife. Vigil and Rosary will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 4-7pm at Halley-Olsen-Murphy, Lancaster. Services will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 9am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery.
