SETTER, Ruth Weaver
SETTER, Ruth Weaver Ruth Setter was born to Robert and Agnes Goodenough in Waterbury, Connecticut on February 16, 1923, and passed away peacefully on November 7, 2014. Ruth's life is celebrated by the Setters, Goodenoughs, Kruideniers, Chalisons, Quinlivans, Wilsons, Yorks, and all the people whose lives were touched by her. Ruth was the oldest of three Goodenoughs, with brothers, Richard and Robin. Ruth worked as a nurse in the Army during World War II. She also was a member of the Coast Guard and the U.S. Air Force. In 1949, as a nurse at Williams AFB, Arizona, she met the love of her life, Louis Setter, while he was an Army Flying Cadet in jet fighter training. During their marriage of over 65 years, Ruth lived in many locations including: Georgia, California, Ohio, Antigua, Oklahoma, and Kansas. Ruth was a loving and dedicated mother to her children, Tim, Paul, John, David, and Marianne. Ruth taught her children how to grow and be stronger for the challenges of life's adventures. She was a guiding star, then, today and always. She has created her own galaxy of stars, and she is now at peace in heaven. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lancaster at 10 am, Monday, November 24, 2014 followed by burial at the Bakersfield National Cemetery. Arrangement entrusted to Halley Olsen Murphy Funerals & Cremations , Lancaster.
