HUNTLIN, Jean Isabel
HUNTLING, Jean Isabel A Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend, passed away November 16, 2014. She was born April 1927 to Francis and Marguerite Cunningham. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert Huntling. She is survived in life by her daughters, Karen Fisher (Randy), and Kathy Morrel; grandchildren Courtney Morrell and Kyle Morrell. Jean was born and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa, graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School as a straight A student. In 1945 she went on to study at Creighton University for 2 years then to Marquette University where she received her B.A. in Philosophy and graduated in 1949. During her years at Marquette she was a member of Alpha Kappa Delta. She went on to work at the University of Omaha for 4 years, then became a ticket agent with United Airlines at the airport in Omaha, Neb., where she met her husband of 50 years. After her two children were born she took a part-time job for the city of Garden Grove, Calif., where she worked for 24 years and retired in 1990. Jean and her husband moved to Palmdale, Calif., where they could be closer to their grandchildren, who meant the world to them. They became very active with the Lancaster Elks 1625, Emblem Club 76 and the Desert Sunrise Campers Club. We were all very blessed to have such a kind, caring, generous and loving mother, grandmother and friend. We all loved her and will miss her dearly. A mass will be held at Father Serra Catholic Church on November 20, 2014 at 10:30 am, followed by a Memorial Service at the Lancaster Elks Lodge 1625, 240 E Ave. K, Lancaster, Calif. Our family will lay her in her final resting place at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Huntington Beach, Calif., on November 21, 2014.
