PAULEY, Violet Lou (Vicky) Born May 23, 1928 in Buffalo, New York. Died peacefully Oct. 17, 2014 in Mojave, Calif. Loving mother and grandmother. Survived by oldest son, Joe L. Pauley, wife Beverly, grandsons, Gil and Ryan Pauley of Rosamond and also step-daughter, Betty Jean Hobel of Iowa. Vicky was preceded in death by youngest son Al E. Pauley. Vicky was a longtime resident of Rosamond. She came west with her grandparents who worked for the railroad and she too followed that occupation. She came to Rosamond after marrying Joe E. Pauley. In her younger days she loved to dance and enjoyed the gold panning contests held at Tropico Mine and deep pit barbecues prepared by Joe Davis, son-in-law of Rawley Duntley. She was also a big fan of rodeos, especially when her sons and their many friends and acquaintances were active in the sport. She also liked getting to go on the rides in her grandsons mule drawn wagon. Vicky really enjoyed getting together with the girls for their monthly birthday luncheons and missed them when she could no longer get out and go. Vickey will be greatly missed. No service will be held as per her request. Our family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to Wayne and Linda Cross of Mojave for the wonderful care and concern they have rendered these past years in making 'Nan' as comfortable and satisfied as possible in their stewardship. We commend and recommend them highly. Also a big thank you to Procare Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.
