SHETLER, Margaret (Mooneyham)
SHETLER, Margaret 'Peggy' (Mooneyham) Beloved mother, grandmother (Tutu), aunt, sister and friend, was surrounded by family when she was taken by the Lord on August 31, 2014.Peggy was born on August 25, 1932 to William and Margaret Mooneyham in Los Angeles, Calif. She attended Catholic Girls High School and graduated from El Monte High School in 1950.Peggy attended college and worked as an operator for the phone company. She married Clarence "Sonny" Shetler on June 2, 1956 and moved onto the Shetler and Son Alfalfa and Cattle Ranch where she resided for 50 years. Peggy was instrumental in bringing Catholic Education to the Littlerock community, enjoyed volunteering for the Lake Los Angeles Sheriffs Department, was an active member of the Lancaster Emblem club and the Lancaster Elks Camper Club. She enjoyed traveling the world and made many visits to her mothers homeland of Castletown Berehaven, County Cork, Ireland. Peggy loved life, her four children and working on the ranch, especially her job as head weigh master. In her later years, Peggy moved to Simi Valley residing at Sycamore Country Home in the care of the Yson Family and Nenita Luces. We would like to thank, Maria, Jhun, Nita and Lourdes for their loving care and to TLC Hospice in Moorpark for their wonderful end of life service. Peggy is survived by her brother Richard Mooneyham; three sons, Robert (Lisa Mobley Shetler), Fr. John, Dan and daughter Diane (Paul Kale), and three grandchildren, Nicole, Alison and Sean. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Robert and sister Kathleen Patricia. Vigil service will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church 155 E. Janss Rd. Thousand Oaks, beginning at 5 pm, with the Rosary starting at 6 pm. Peggys Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, September 13, 2014 at St. Paschal Baylon Church.
