DIAZ, Mucio Azevedo Marcelo
DIAZ, Mucio 'Marcelo' Azevedo Retired Air Force CMSgt Mucio 'Marcelo' Azevedo Diaz, 86, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2014. Marcelo was born to Jose Luis and Eulalia Azevedo Diaz on April 12, 1928 in Oxnard, California. CMSgt Diaz was a decorated 30 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired in 1976 as an A-10 and F-16 Crew Chief at Edwards AFB, California. Marcelo continued to live in the Antelope Valley for the next 17 years following his Air Force retirement, and began a second career at Hughes Aircraft Company where he was employed as the F-14 Logistics Manager until he retired in 1989. Marcelo married Susie Calderon on December 27, 1953 in Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul A. Diaz. Marcelo is survived by his wife, Susie C. Diaz; his four daughters, Margo (Terry) Wiblitzhouser of Mercer Island, Wash., Brenda (Richard) May of Palmdale, Calif., Marcella (Robert) Le Van of Henderson, Nev., Teresa (Stan) Masters of Henderson, Nev., and nephew, Raul Diaz of Colorado Springs, Colo. Marcelo is also survived by his ten beloved grandchildren who adored him, Nicholas May, Victoria May, Cole Masters, Alyssa Wiblitzhouser, Tye Masters, Deanna Wiblitzhouser, Drew Masters, Mara Le Van, Audra Le Van, and Chantz Masters. Marcelo will always be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Visitation will be on Sept. 12, 2014, 4-6 pm, with Rosary to follow at 6 pm, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89123. Mass service will be on Sept. 13, 2014, 10 am, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 2300 Sunridge Heights Pkwy, Henderson, NV 89052. Burial to be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Lasting sentiments can be left at dignitymemorial.com.
