ROSE, Jr., Frederick Big Fred
ROSE, Jr., Frederick 'Big Fred' Age 85 of Quartz Hill, Calif., Beloved husband of Faith Ward, born March 23, 1929 in San Francisco to Frederick and Angelina Rose, passed away August 6, 2014. He grew up in Fontana and graduated from Fontana High School. He enlisted in the Reserves in 1947 and into the Army in 1948. He served in Korea where he repaired or retrieved tanks from the front lines. He worked with his father in his plumbing business from the age of 14 and received a Masters Plumbers Certificate at the age of 16. Big Fred drove trucks for 60yrs, and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He loved cars, particularly old ones and restored a 1948 Lincoln that was his pride and joy. He was an avid fans of forensic science movies and travel log programs. Big Fred will be sorely missed. Everything about Big Fred was big, his voice, his heart, his appetite, and most of all his big love of life, his loyalty, and perseverance. He is survived by his wife Faith Ward; siblings, James Rose (Ellen), Anita (weezie) Anderson and Les Rose; two stepdaughters; 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. Fred is preceded in death by his children, Frederick Rankin and Bailey Edmunsten; his sister Martha, his 1st wife, Billie LaDonna Dailey and 2nd wife Constance House. A Celebration of his life will be held at 11 am, Sept. 27, 2014 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 42217 N 55th St. W, Quartz Hill. Lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Resurrection Church Building fund.
